Reese Witherspoon's acting career started to grow after she attended Stanford University. Her early success was in movies like Pleasantville, Election and Legally Blonde. However, it was her portrayal as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde's box-office hit that really set the stage for her career. Witherspoon was awarded the Academy Award in the year 2005 for Walk the Line. Water for Elephants, This Means War, and Wild are a few of her most recent films. Witherspoon received a second Oscar nomination for Wild. Witherspoon enjoyed great success as both an TV actor and producer on David E. Kelley's award-winning TV series Big Little Lies. Witherspoon was born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon at New Orleans Louisiana, March 22nd 26th, 1976. Witherspoon is the daughter of a doctor and nurse, grew up as the first debutante of Nashville Tennessee. She attended Harpeth Hall, a girls' private high school. Witherspoon was a debutante in Nashville Tennessee in 1991. She was a part of the request for extras in her local paper. In 1991, Witherspoon was only 14 when she got the part of the principal character in The Man in the Moon. The first year following graduation from high school, Witherspoon seriously considered quitting acting to join her parents in the medical field. She made her feature film debut in the 2003 comedy The Invisible Man. The television debut of her career was House of Lies Whitney. Also, she was an actress as a character in The Dictator (1998) and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2006). As well as her profession as an actress, Sheila is also an artist, who has exhibited her paintings in many gallery.
