Fawn Mckay

Fawn MCK Brodie was born on September 15th, 1915 at Ogden Utah. Fawn, a member of the Mormon church's most prestigious family, merged her writing abilities and outstanding research skills into a brilliant biography on Joseph Smith. No Man knew My History appeared in 1945. The name was taken from the sermon title that Joseph Smith delivered in 1844. In the sermon, he stunned his listeners with his words: "You are not my friend and have not heard my thoughts. Nobody knows my past. I can't tell. Wrote the 29-year old Fawn: Since the moment when he spoke, more than three writers have jumped on the gauntlet. Many have abused him some have deified him; a few have attempted to make a clinical diagnosis it is not the fact that these documents lack information, however they're in complete contradiction. It is a difficult task to put together these documents by separating the first-hand versions from copies that are third-hand and integrating Mormon narratives with non-Mormon ones into a coherent collection. This is exciting and it's enlightening. FawnBrodie was able to take on this expert project with gusto and enthusiasm. Thaddeus S. Stevens was immortalized by her work and the fruits of her studies. The Devil drives (1959). Thomas Jefferson. Richard Nixon and An Intimate Historical History (1974).
