Amy Smart was an American model as well as actress. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modeling career in Italy. She began her acting career in the year 1996 with The TV movie Her Costly Affair. It took a long time to get her into Starship Troopers in a smaller part. In the beginning, it was difficult for her to transition from modeling to acting. This is because most models aren't great actors. And they are usually given insignificant and small roles. Amy was determined to succeed and she eventually landed larger roles beginning with The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. After a few years Amy made the jump to more prominent roles. She starred in the love story Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy was finally recognized for her work over the past 10 years. Amy continued to make major films such as the Crank series starring Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed a well loved recurring character.
